Wildlife in the garden is wonderful, whatever size and shape it comes in. Today’s sightings include:
- A frog in the pond sploshing in when I approached.
- A daddy blackbird with a slug in his beak; he ate that and followed it with another couple of unidentified morsels then came back to splash like a kid at a waterpark in the small side pool I made for birds to drink / bathe in. He kept going back in, beak first, then his bum, wiggling round, emerging looking all wet and bedraggled, shaking off the water and going back if for another turn. I lost count how many times he went back, but it was at least a dozen! Next time I will try to have the camera close by.
- Honey bees and bumble bees very busy on the forget me nots, speedwell, aquilegias, chives, cabbages that have gone to flower and London pride.
