The Worm by Emma Lawrence

The Worm” a picture book for young children is written and illustrated by my friend Emma Lawrence click here to see the front cover illustration.  Emma is a wonderful illustrator – she did the drawings for my book including the one below (which in the end we didn’t use).

As you can see the detail is intricate and absorbing and I can spend hours just looking at one picture.

Emma is brimming with enthusiasm for involving children with nature and wildlife and this book, which is the first of her “Little Explorer” series brings her art and passion for nature together in a beautifully illustrated rhyming tale which can probably teach us adults a thing or two about worms as well!  “The Worm” is a rhyming story book to read to a young child or for a slightly older child to read themselves.

It was only published a matter of days ago and there is a 5 star review on Amazon already from a lady who is looking forward to more books in the series!  If you are looking for a really good book for a young child why not pop into your local independent book shop and order a copy or buy direct from Brambleby Books.

About Anni Kelsey

I love forest gardens and forest gardening, nature, reading and everything good about being alive. I have written two books - the garden of equal delights (2020) - about the principles and practice of forest gardening; and Edible Perennial Gardening (2014) - about growing perennial vegetables in polycultures, which is basically forest gardening concentrating on the lower layers.
